Byron Bay Bluesfest, 9 - 13 April 2009
John Butler Trio and Ben Harper head a long list of acts at this year's Bluesfest at Byron Bay. With international food stalls and enough space to chill out on the grass among the bongo drums, the Bluesfest is an Easter weekend tradition for many and an exciting new experience for first timers.
Sydney Royal Easter Show, 9th - 22nd April 2009
Held at Sydney Olympic Park, the Sydney Royal Easter Show boasts extreme rides, baby animals and livestock, showbags, games and exhibits. Kids can meet the stars of 'The Saddle Club' and Dorothy the Dinosaur.
Bendigo Easter Festival, Victoria, 10th - 13th April 2009
Saturday in Rosalind Park offers free activities for children in the 'kidzone'. Music on Bull features a jazz, folk and alternative rock music line up and, on Easter Sunday,The Chinese Spring Festival and the Awakening of the Dragon celebrates Chinese heritage with the Torchlight Procession and a fireworks display at Lake Weeroona.
Highfields Pioneer Village Easter Festival, Toowoomba City, 11th - 13th April 2009
Featuring pioneering demonstrations and displaying arts, crafts, music, vintage machinery and wood turning, the festival also offers classes in whip cracking and cow milking. Just watch out for bushranger, Ned Kelly!
